mr KC, always a pleasure to read your blog!!!
London Calling, June 26, 2011
It’s been a while since I posted an update from the road! Things have been crazy out here... Here’s a quick recap!
Since my last post, which was right after we left South America... We played Belfast & Dublin, then Alice received the Kerrang Icon Award in London on June 9th, then we destroyed Montereau and stole the show at Download Festival @ Donington. Alice hosted the Metal Hammer Awards in London on June 13, then flew to Bucharest for some more rockage. Lichtenfels on the 17th, Istanbul on the 19th, then Alice filmed an episode on the Hit TV series Top Gear on the 22nd... We rocked Basel last Friday, flew back to London Saturday, and tonight... ALICE WILL ROCK THE LEGENDARY 100 CLUB IN LONDON! Mind you, all of this happens with tons of press, flights, driving, & LOADS of sweat in between...
So, on to more current matters... Tonight is a very special night. Alice will play the legendary 100 Club on Oxford Street in London. This is the same stage rocked by The Stones, The Yardbirds, BB King, $ex Pistols, The Kinks, The Who, Metallica, The Animals, The Clash, Muddy Waters, The Pogues, and MANY MANY more since it first opened it’s doors to live entertainment in 1942. This place has been holding concerts for longer than Alice Cooper has been alive!
We knew his show was going to sell out fast, but it sold out REALLY fast. Within seconds, the 200 available tickets were gone. Naturally there were some that popped up online for silly prices, as usually happens with any sought after event, but we’re confident we got the majority to those who deserve to be there the most... Alice’s fans.
And what does Alice have in store for his Sick Things tonight? You’ll have to wait and see... But there will be Alice classics, Rock n Roll covers, Special Guests and surprises. Look for photos/video of sound check in a few hours!
