Ozzy Osbourne and Iron Maiden lead the metal pack at the 3rd annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards, as nominations for America’s only hard rock and heavy metal awards were announced this week.
Ozzy and Maiden will go head-to-head in the key categories of Best Vocalist, Best Guitarist(s) and Best Drummer, while Ozzy’s “Scream” is also up for Album Of The Year.
Two major honors will be presented at this year’s event: Alice Cooper will receive The Golden God Award, given to someone who embodies the spirit of hard rock and metal, while Motley Crue are this year’s recipient of the first-ever Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award – renamed in honor of the late, great 2010 Best Vocalist Award winner.
The Awards will be hosted by WWE pro-wrestling legend and Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho.
The 3rd Annual Revolver Golden God Awards will take place Wednesday, April 20, at Club Nokia in Downtown Los Angeles. The event will be televised on VH1 Classic on May 28.
Fans can cast their vote to decide who will take home the awards; voting is now underway at Revolvermag.com and is open until April 1
