ALICE IS GOD!!!....OK, -GOD IS ALICE!!! ALL HAIL THE ULTIMATE KING OF SHOCK ROCK FOREVER- I LOVE YOU... I'M NOT WORTHY! I'M NOT WORTHY!!!
Gibson.com has released a list of the top ten concept albums of all time. Alice Cooper ranks #6 with Welcome To My Nightmare...
"Ratcheting up the theatricality that had been integral to the original Alice Cooper lineup, Alice Cooper (the man) unfurled a full-blown concept album with his debut solo disc. Fresh off their stint backing Lou Reed, guitarists Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner proved the perfect foil for Cooper, as they meted out economical solos and crashing power chords that brought the frontman’s comic-book melodramas vividly to life. Horror-film veteran Vincent Price pitched in as well, adding a bit of Broadway-style spice to the macabre proceedings."

Great to see Alice Cooper FINALLY being recognized by the 'serious' music community. I 'd have put KILLER, BILLION DOLLAR BABIES and SCHOOL'S OUT on this list ahead of Green Day.
@L1ndaz *remembered the crowd doing a collective "whoa" during the song "Escape" as Alice jumped back and forth in a movie while being chased by aliens.*
I remember that too! I saw the show at Wembley, it was sensational!!
#6? are they NUTS? WTMN2! More pretties for you! Yhanks Alice!!!
Only #6 ?!? It should be #1 BY FAR !!!! ;)
A candle in my room at 16', i discovered wtmn when i knew alice as flush tf or trash....what a strange sound going back those years ago.So dark slow melodic and groundbreaking rock....it pulverised my senses of music....still listening to it! and will always be..
I would like the wtmn2 to sound the same as its predecessor but really heavy!
THE BLACK WIDOW ! ! !!
With out Alice Cooper there would be no hero's? Every hero needs a villain!
Here's hoping that "Welcome To My Nightmare II" will be as great as the original! I also think "Along Came A Spider" was a great concept album that went unnoticed by the critics.

Sixth? What!!!, Who's number one? Donny Osmond!
Back in the day, we used to get stoned to this 8 track (yes, I mean way back...Do kids even know what an 8 track is?) We'd go parking on a dark country road and look for Stephen...Those were the days...Good times, good memories, good music!!! Hail Alice!!!
One of my all time favorite albums. Listening to it was like watching a movie in my head. I saw the Nightmare tour in VA back in the 70's and remembered the crowd doing a collective "whoa" during the song "Escape" as Alice jumped back and forth in a movie while being chased by aliens. It was something I had never seen before. Congrats Alice. You da best!
