Wow, I am making a poster for my son who is coming home for 10 days from Bootcamp. OCt.15th when, I came across your site. He is in the Army at Fort Benning Ga.I've been going through so many emotions. My very first real concert was seeing you at the Forum when I was in Junior High. It was the concert of a lifetime for me. Then a few years ago when my son,T.J. was in Junior High and his brother Jason was four years younger My husband. Me,(And Even Grandma In tow), took our two Boys to their first real concert at the Greek. I have been missing my son so much and as many gut-wrenching tears I have cried over T.J.'s choice to joiun the Army, the memory of both of those concerts finally brought such happy tears of those two concerts. My father has since passed, and I remember how we forgot our tickets back in the 70'svand I remember every moment. My Dad drove all the way home to Van Nuys and got back just in time for (I think it was Suzy Quatro) to finish opening. He waited in that parking lot the entire trip as to not make another round trip from Van Nuys. My son just wrote me that he has an appointment already set up for when he gets out with LAPD. Since he plans to go to the Police Academy. he plans to give his Army scholarship to his brother Jason. Jason is a Savant who has sufferred with epilepsy ove half his life. He was chosen with 20 others we heard out of close to 700 aplications to attend Hollywood Hugh School for the performing arts. He is in 10th grad. Jason is realistic about his future and will always be an entertainer for if nothing else fun. But his other pation is science. His IEP coordinator has a plan to get him into to UCLA do to his high ability in this area but it would be extremely hard on us finanially (we are in the middle). T.J. Graduated with a 4.0 and 3 five point each college credits from high school and was never not on the honor roll. He didn't get a scholarship because they say we make too much money. I am Disabled and my husband makes about $65,00. After taxes, mortgager payments and so on it would practically be impossible for us to come up with th money for Jason to go to UCLA. Their is a motal to this letter. When i was in 7th grade my friens was not aloud to listeb to your music or go to your concertsbecause it was concidered EVIL to them. I'd heard this from other kids as well. My favorite actor for years was Vincent price, John Wayne Riding real close behind. You are one of the reasons I thought I hjad the best parents in the world. We were raised Lutheran, but they saw no harm in whar i used to call scart fun. I, with some help from an alcoholic husband have raised my children the way I was raised. Us sharingt the same first concerts is one of my fondest Memories. I thank you and am going to go put one of the The CD"S I have from so many of yuour Albums in my car player. And make sure it is there before T.J. gets shipped off to Afghanistan. God Bless from deep inside my heart and keep making dreams come true, you, the one and only, Alice Cooper!
