News : BILLBOARD'S WRAPUP OF THE 2012 ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME CEREMONIES
FROM BILLBOARD.BIZ
"Rock Hall 2011 inductees Alice Cooper and Darlene Love both had big smiles on their faces as they arrived at this year's ceremony. "It feels much better now," Love told Billboard. "I can't tell you what happened that night (last year). But tonight it feels good." Cooper, who arrived on the Gibson Guitars bus with his wife Sheryl, added that "I have no pressure at all this year. I don't have to do anything but sit there and watch people. Everybody that's being inducted are friends of mine. It's one of those family things." As for Guns N' Roses drama and Axl Rose's no-show, Cooper said, "Everybody's got a different take on the Hall of Fame. Axl is always gonna make a left turn. But the other guys are here…You never know; (Rose) could show up." Alas, he did not.

Attention Alice Cooper
I was a photographer in the music industry for 20 years and we met on a couple of occasions, which was a pleaser.
I’ve wanted to write you a letter for a while now and give you a complement and express a difference of opinion. First I want to tell you how important you and the original Alice Cooper group is. This isn’t anything you haven’t here from other fans for years but I want you to hear it from me.
It was in 1972 when I got tuned on to the band and it is one of the best bands that came out of the 60s & 70s. The creative spark in music, throughout that point was like a renaissance period. Lots of great ideas in art going around. This also includes literature and film.
I think the arrangement and lyrics in your records shows a different sounding band that is one of a kind. Creative and cynical with colorful ideas that have no musical boundaries. Songs like “ Black Juju “, “Halo Of Flies”, “ You Drive Me Nervous”, “My Stars”, and Generation Landslide for example are brilliant. This is pure art ! It’s no surprise to me that Salvador Dali thought the band was great.
The band’s image is also great as well. One of my favorite photos of the band is the back cover of “Love It To Death”. It’s a greats shot of you guy’s looking like a bunch of psychedelic drag queens with a dangerous side.
Some band in the 80s tried to hard to copy your look.
When the original band broke-up and you want solo I think you did many great records over the years. But I do feel there were a few bummer records along the way. I’ve seen you in concert many times and it was always a great time. I was also a the Toronto show at the C.N.E. in the summer of 1980, the night you were sick and couldn’t make the gig at the last minute and a riot broke out.
Now I would like to express a different point of view about your interest in becoming a Christian since the mid 90s. I’m not a religious person and for good reason. I know your father was a preacher, that not news to me and in recent years I’ve hard you talk about your faith in interviews I’ve seen on YouTube.
In one interview you stated that you take everything in the bible literally. I found that disappointing to hear. I feel that Gods, profits and religious books, know matter what religion it is, are all created by people over 1000’s of years to give good arguments to control the masses. It’s a combination of politics and delusion. The story of Jonah and the whale, along with other stories are fairy tales.
Galileo Galilei, the Italian physicist, mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher of the 16thcentury was almost put to death during the Inquisitions of Europe for going against the bible by stating that the earth was not stationary and was not at the center of the universe. He stated the earth revolved around the sun, not the other way around. We all know with satellites and photography that Galileo was right. I feel Christianity, the bible and other religions are full contradictions and false claims including places like heaven and hell.
People, including musicians / artists in the late 60’s and early 70’s saw past the un-democratic bull **** of the Nixon government and the Vietnam war. They were free thinking. When it comes to people, including musicians / artists today, I like the free thinking ones that can see past the highly questionable religious dogma.
I think it’s best to use simple commonsense. People are an imperfect species, so no one has the answers to why we are on this planet or where we may or may not go when we die. I am suspicious of any religious person or group that thinks they do have the answers. The world is over populated and the more religion crazy it gets the worse off we are.
Alice, you and I my not agree on this subject matter but I will say again I have been a fan of your for years, although I’m not interested in hearing your more resent recordings if you’re putting subtle massages of your new found faith in some of the songs. For me that’s not Alice and that’s not Rock ‘n’ Roll.
"Whhat you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things i've ever heard, at no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. everyone in this room is now dumber for having listend to it. we give you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul"......Happy Gilmore
