REVIEW OF THE NEWLY RELEASED DVD "THE STRANGE CASE OF ALICE COOPER" POSTED TO GROUNDCONTROLMAG.COM - "The Seventies were an interesting time for rock n' roll. By then, the music was already old enough to vote but rock n' roll had become increasingly about the show and the showmanship which went along with the music. By 1975, David Bowie was doing shows so big they famously used a cherry-picker arm and featured the services of entire theatrical teams to block a concert and let him sit suspended over the first few rows of his audience. Elton John and The Who presented lengthy and dramatic albums to adoring fans in stadiums while could barely contain their presence. KISS had already shown up dressed to kill and rock and rolled all night and partied every day with the biggest, hottest show in the world. All of that pageantry was awesome; it was everything rock n' roll had been played up to be by writers like Lester Bangs and Cameron Crowe in the pages of Creem and Rolling Stone for a decade. It was played up as lawless, crazy, exciting, otherworldly and outside of society because “the man” just couldn't snuff out, stifle or contain the energy of youth..." READ MORE HERE.  BUY THE DVD HERE.

MAN ABOUT TOWN POSTS REVIEW OF "THE STRANGE CASE OF ALICE COOPER -

“Alice Cooper” was more than just your typical hard rock band. The early years were that of the “Alice Cooper” persona still searching for identity. Coming into the time when “Alice” first smeared on his heavy mascara under “Frank Zappa’s” direction, his extended facial lashes streamed above and below his eyes in a darkened extension of his alter ego. This brought us into the realm of his “Love it to Death” album, firing into the charts with “I’m Eighteen”, a confused anthem of a young man who’s caught between being a boy and a man..."  READ MORE HERE.

    Dear Alice,

Any contests coming up soon? I just entered a song lyric contest with one of my songs inspired by you called
" I'LL SCARE YOU TO DEATH". Wish me luck. Long time fan since 1972-73. saw you in '73 with Flo and Eddie. Whata show. Thank you for that memory.

Alice - "The Strange Case of Alice Cooper" is really fantastic. Your audio comments add so much - it was great seeing the entire stage show and the incredible guitars (Hunter, Johnston) - I have a feeling SO much more could have been said - totally CRAZY and GREAT. I remember '79 well, I was a senior in high school, and I still to this day listen to "From the Inside" on a regular basis. What a great record. What a great show. I could go on and on. Thanks Alice. The only thing I'll add is (as I keep saying):

ALICE - COME BACK TO THE BAY AREA!!!!

    Your minions wait.
