News Item : USA Today Article On Alice Cooper At Nashville Predators Game
First, a little hockey news: As some of you may already know, Mike Fisher (better known around these parts as "Mr. Carrie Underwood") was traded Thursday from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators. Nashville sportswriters think the acquisition could have playoff implications. Ottawa fans aren't happy.
In other Carrie Underwood news, her Last Name single recently passed 1 million downloads. The 2,000 downloads it picked up last week puts it at 1.003 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Lee DeWyze's Live It Up album sold 2,000 last week, bringing its total to 116,000. Kris Allen's debut album currently has sold 325,000 copies.
In other Nashville Predators news, Alice Cooper and Vince Gill performed between periods at a recent Predators-Detroit Red Wings game. Cooper is in Nashville working on Welcome 2 My Nightmare, a sequel to his similarly titled 1975 concept album. I got to interview Cooper and producer Bob Ezrin yesterday for an upcoming USA TODAY piece: It was the first time I've ever interviewed somebody that I've dressed up as for Halloween.
In keeping with the Alice Cooper theme, here's a 2005 performance of Cooper's signature hit School's Out.
