i chosse alice because he is hands down the best lyricist in the histoty of music period. as for why ozzy did the bieber comercial it shows his sense of humor he pubicly made fun of him. this commercial was aired during the super bowl. ozzy has become a great showman over the years.
Alice is from Michigan and I love him; I am from Michigan, but Ozzy all the way. Comparing Shock Rock and Black Sabbath/Ozzy are two different type artist. Shock goes to Alice BS/Ozzy and Ozzy; one of a kind I would pick Ozzy if forced too choose.
Alice is the Mozart of these decennia, brilliant and very original, he never fucks up and oh boy, have I seen Ozzy singing Perry Mason when his voice was gone, it sounded like he was crying, and seeing the osbournes... he just a silly old demented man, though he has great music. Maybe this could have been a contest when he quit drinking and using drugs years ago, now he is just one of the many rock and roll rebels, just like Lemmy and don't get me wrong, I love them all, also liked Dio, rest in peace, but Alice is God for me, and he was ever saw him for the first time on tv in the clip How you gonna see me now. Alice mostly sings about how it is to live on the downside of live. The poor, the weak and the sick things
Why can't they play together, that would be a sold out show.
Seen both, met Alice, bless Ozzy but he plods across the stage, Alice rocks it, Alice is the nicest man on the planet, Ozzy would struggle to function without Sharon to push him. Both deserve massive respect for their contribution to rock but Alice is and was an originator, Ozzy basically a follower
Pretty difficult question because I love them both and have seen them both live. But I will go with Alice Cooper because I've seen him 3 times and his shows are very memorable for he gives you blood, evil-baby killing, and all that cool theatrics.

Kind of an unfair question to be posted on Alice's site. But...Alice wins hands down for me. Ozzy had done some very cool music and all, but Alice has done everything from metal, to jazz over the decades. If I was on an island with the entire musical collection of only one band/artist...Alice is the only one that could give me the variety that I love as a musician. I find it difficult right now to think of anyone else who has covered the spectrum of music the way Cooper does.

This is a great question - though, in the end, non answerable. These are both great rock artists, both from the same time frame and genre. Sabbath was groundbreaking in it's approach. The Alice Cooper band was equally groundbreaking in it's approach. So, we're left with who contributed more?
Sabbath created an entire genre, as did the Alice Cooper band. At the onset, both were unique. That's ALL you can ask for. The bands were great, the lyrics memorable. The lead singers fried out of their gourds.
So, though I love both bands, and love Alice alittle bit more, I have to proclaim a tie. Depends what you're into, Govner!

eAbsolutely no question,Alice is the best in any way of comparison.He has a giant body of work,hes influenced a galaxy of performers,hes much more diverse musically;and his songs will stand the test of time.A hundred years from now,someone will be listening to one of his songs,whether it be at a Martian colony or in the smoldering ruins of a post WWIII city,there will always be the Coop.

Has to be Ozzy all the way forever. He is and always will be my favorite vocalist. Music is what keeps me going. I love all his work and accomplishments. His family seems great . Well, Alice really opened my ears wide, back in hmm about '76/'77.
But it then it was Black Sabbath and further on Ozzy who really blew me away. And no: I can't and I won't in no way try to judge which one is THE ONE AND ONLY.
Or maybe… Alice? Or, wait, Ozzy?

Alice no question. The original master of rock theatre. Also classic rock album after classic rock album. A great body of work. The original and best.
It´s simple, I´ve never liked Ozzy, he is nothing to me...I know just songs with Sabbath. Coop is much more better in every way.

Alice of course; i agree with Shawn Cady , he is a christian, not satanic as Ozy or Manson, then he has a MUCH more original, unique, beautiful voice, he has a super show, super costumes, extra good taste in dressing on and out of stage, he has themes based on fantasy classic: Beauty and the beast, Dr Jeckyll, Portrait of Dorian Gray, Phantom of the Opera...He has humour, he never says insanity or blasphematic words, he has double personality as he is very smart with his fans out of stage! He is a perfect tasty artist; his shows are better and better....he has better physical appearance, eyes, face, expressive, sometimes terryfying and sometimes charming, others dont have, nor Ozzy or other clone.
ALICE.....You can still understand what he says for starters
I grew up in the prime of both these legends & as much as I love both the thing that hooked me was the MUSIC , not the antics or Vauldville aspect of AC. Ozzy & Black Sabbath invented a new sound that has been often imitated and NEVER duplicated. That sets them (him) apart.

ALICE did had more influence in bands(even though every young bieber-like knows ozzy, and not ALICE). somehow ALICE's voice is powerful and unique, whereas ozzys voice is just a scratch. Personally I think that Ozzy is now famous because he was always supported by some of the best musicians of all time(Butler, Iommi, Roads and Wylde).
I would like to add that it is my personal opinion, no angry comments ozzy-lovers =D...
I love them both, but slight edge to Alice.
When Ozzy left Sabbath, they got Dio and Ian Gillian and the moved on, if Alice left what would happen--it would be over!! Alice is a one of a kind and you can understand what he's saying :)

Alice!! throughout his whole career he did his own thing; his own look, his own music style... no matter how much personal publicity he got; no justin bieber commercials (current IN thing with 12 year old girls), no World of Warcraft ads, and so on.

Black Sabbath influenced more rock/metal artists. I didn't have to be born in that era to know what bands Black Sabbath has influenced.
I never said Alice didn't have any influence, but in the long run, Ozzy has had more influence throughout his life than Alice.
I'll continue being both Ozzy and Alice's fans, because they're both really great, but when it comes down to who is better and has had more of an influence, it's Ozzy and you can try to argue it with me, but if you got a chance to talk to just about any band that falls under the rock and metal genres, you would find that almost every band has been influenced by Black Sabbath.

When you're only 23, you're forgiven. But please don't make yourself ridiculous talking about influences in times when you weren't even alive. Wanna know about influences? Ozzy may have influenced heavy rock and metal with Black Sabbath, but Alice influenced those styles along with the extreme forms of metal performances (like black metal), the goth scene or punk rock, not to mention questionable acts like Ki$$.
Plus: When you watch Ozzy on stage nowadays and Alice, too, there's only one going strong, and that is the Coop. Ozzy is glad to be alive. Go on being Ozzy's fan, cause he really is great, but stop saying amazingly stupid things.
Alice Cooper all the way. I have listened to alot of his music and have enjoyed every bit of it and I love that man!
On the other hand, I have only listened to 1 Ozzy song.
Yes, it may appear biased like that, however, the very first time I heard an Alice song, I felt the need to try more and more of his songs and grew to love it all. I clearly did not feel the same way about Ozzy, so Alice is a sure winner.
The best thing about Alice is I have friends into all kinds of music who will have an Alice song they like. I don't know a single person who doesn't like a single Alice song.... Ozzy on the other hand....rarely comes up in conversation acctually, but yh, most people I know only know 1 song of his, and that didn't get them listening to more either.
