Blog : No More Mr Nice Blog - Tuesday, June 7th - Goodbye South America, Hello UK
What a crazy trip to South America! It was full of up’s and down’s between Alice getting salmonella poisoning and having to cancel the Santiago show, the long list of stolen stage clothes (yes there were several other items stolen along side of Glen’s stage vest, though the vest is the one Alice want’s back the most), and the great fans & fantastic crowds.
We always have a great response from the fans in South America, and Alice didn’t let any of the few negative moments overshadow the amazing support he felt from the fans... The feedback was incredible. Every crowd was high energy, every fan knew all of the words; even to the new song “I’ll Bite Your Face Off”, which was only debuted on May 12th in Elizabeth, Indiana. Very impressive.
After a crazy travel schedule from Rio to Buenos Aires, then to London for press and finally landing in Belfast today, ANYONE would be wrecked and worn out. Not Alice Cooper. The man is a machine, as soon as we got to the hotel (wouldn’t YOU like to know where) he hit the ground running. He had to get out and explore, after all he hasn’t been to Belfast for a long while and the last time Alice was here in Belfast, things were quite different indeed.
We’re gearing up for some phone interviews in a bit, and then it’s the calm before the storm. It’s always interesting seeing Coop transform from Coop to Alice. I leave him in his room to rest before we leave for the venue, and when I pick him up he has already transformed to Alice. Even without his makeup, his entire demeanor changes in an hour and a half. He makes a 180 Degree change.
Tonight will be a great show... you can always tell when it’s going to be a good show. We’ve got Thin Lizzy, Alice Cooper and Def Leppard... How can that go wrong?? There will be so many hits you’ll think you’re at a championship fight. Personally I’m looking forward to these next few shows. The setlist will be a little bit shorter, but they will pack a heavier punch because we’ll be trimming out the in-between stuff. The whole set moves like a tsunami, with great song after great song hitting the fans one after another.
Anyway that’s all for now, we’ve got a busy schedule today and I’ve got to get back to it. See you out there!

I've seen Alice Cooper in Romania! What a great show! Thank you Alice and please come back! I have only one regret: my brother (he is not 18 years old yet) wasn't allowed to the show even if he had a ticket. A lot of kids (with tickets) were left outside. :( Besides, the sponsor (Jack Daniels) used the 4 big screens to do some advertising for their drinks during your show, so we couldn't really see everything that happened on stage.:( It's not my case (I was in the front row) but I had some friends who were not so close to the stage.
But, Alice, I just want to say that you rock! And you have a great band! It sounded perfect! I really hope you will come back! Keep on rocking! We love you!

Tony B: I agree with you, Alice's fans will not allow him to stop touring as long as he lives, and I'm sure he will be touring until he's 80 (at least!

KC: sad to read Glen's vest wasn't the only thing that got "lost" during the south american part of the tour.

Great read! I hope the rumours of a halloween UK tour are true, I've already started planning my hotels and travel routes. Also in the process of having my first tattoo.....of Coop! Would really love to get my tat signed by Alice to enable me to have an Alice signature tat! =) \m/

I went to your show in Belfast on Tuesday 7th June I have been a fan since the early 70s and my husband, daughter and son went to the show as well, my kids love your music after listening to me playing your records and cds.
I just wanted to let you know how much we all loved the show it was a wonderful night but you definitely stole the show you were outstanding and untouchable by any other artist. A wonderful experience I will never forget it.
I would love you to come back to Belfast again soon.

Alice my childhood hero 40 years ago totally dominated the Belfast gig! Absolute brilliance from start to finish! As I suspected Def Lepperd would not be able to follow such a performance ...and they totally failed. Came across as all clean, glossy AOR no soul or passion unlike Alice. We left after 40 boring minutes when they put accoustic guitars on and said they wanted us to sing with them for 8 or 9 minutes! Cue exit and we were not alone as loads of others werestreaming ot of the hall. To be honest most people were there fro Alice and Thin Lizzy with DL in a supporting role (and not very good at that!).
Come back for a full gig soon , you can see Belfast wants you to!
I went with the hubbie to the belfast show, love all music but am a total cooper fan since last night, U still got it boy, Def L were like divas after you, with their l'oreal hair, diamond mikes and posey guitar solos.
I'm afraid the resurrection of Thin Lizzy didn't work for me at all, prefer the real thing.
U just played the music and entertained the masses, absolutely blew the rest away. Please come back as a headline act over here in NIreland.

Alice totally rocked Belfast tonight, the other bands were not too shabby either Def Lepp, Thin Lizzy) - but Alice blew them away! I agree, please return for a full-length headline gig!! God Bless! :-)

I'm gutted that I had to miss the Belfast and Dublin shows, but I have important exams so it can't be helped... otherwise I would definitely have been at both. Hope everyone going has a blast, and hopefully I'll catch the Master later in the year!
