Blog : FIRST TWO SHOWS WRAP UP!
WE’VE BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR A FEW DAYS NOW, AND I’VE FINALLY GOT A SOLID INTERNET CONNECTION TO UPLOAD PHOTOS FOR YOU SICKTHINGS. HERE’S A BRIEF UPDATE ON WHAT ALICE HAS BEEN UP TO! PHOTOS TAKEN BY KYLER CLARK WITH A SONY NEX-5 CAMERA.
JUNE 4TH - 7TH:

LET’S TAKE A MOMENT TO MENTION THE ROAD CREW. THESE GUYS PULLED 16 HOUR DAYS FOR A WEEK TO GET THE GEAR DIALED IN RIGHT. THANKS GUYS, YOU DON’T GET ENOUGH CREDIT. IT’S A TOUGH JOB... LONG HOURS, NO SLEEP, STRESS, ENDLESS TRAVEL, TOO MUCH BEER AND NOT ENOUGH TIME... I SHOULD KNOW, I WAS ON ALICE’S ROAD CREW. ONE TIME WHEN WE WERE ON TOUR WITH JOAN JETT AND MOTORHEAD, I WAS SO TIRED THAT I FELL ASLEEP UNDER ALICE’S DRUM RISER. I SLEPT THRU BOTH OF THEIR SETS. NEXT TO LEMMY’S AMP. THAT’S TIRED!! OK, BACK TO THIS TOUR!
ALICE AND THE BAND REHEARSED 10+ HOURS A DAY TO GET BACK ON THE SADDLE. AS MOST OF YOU KNOW, GUITARIST RYAN ROXIE IS BACK AFTER A NUMBER OF YEARS AWAY. ORIANTHI, RYAN ROXI, TOMMY HENRIKSEN, CHUCK GARRIC AND GLEN SOBEL MAKE A GREAT TEAM ON STAGE, THE BAND IS SOUNDING TIGHT AND THEY HAVE BEEN PLAYING GREAT SINCE DAY ONE.

WE’RE PLAYING 90 MIN SETS FOR OUR OWN SHOWS AS USUAL, AND 50-55 MIN SETS WITH IRON MAIDEN. THERE WERE LOTS OF TWEAKS HERE AND THERE DURING REHEARSALS, AND SOME LUCKY FEW FANS EVEN GOT TO WATCH A LOOSE DRESS REHEARSAL OF THE 90 MIN SET ON THE AFTERNOON OF THE 7TH. THE BAND WORKED WITH PRODUCER BOB EZRIN ON CAFFEINE (THE MOST REQUESTED SONG FROM WELCOME 2 MY NIGHTMARE) TO ADD TO THE CURRENT SETS, ALONG WITH A VERSION OF LADY GAGA’S “BORN THIS WAY” FOR BONNAROO. NOW, NOBODY PANIC. IT’S NOT A PERMANENT SONG IN THE SET. ALICE WANTED TO SURPRISE THE BONNAROO CROWD WITH SOMETHING THEY WOULD NEVER EXPECT. NOT SURPRISINGLY, THE VERSION THE BAND CAME UP WITH IS GREAT, AND ALICE PUT HIS OWN TOUCH ON THE LYRICS FOR HIS VERSION.

JUNE 8TH - BILOXI, MS:
THE BAND PLAYED THE FIRST SHOW OF THE YEAR AT THE BEAU RIVAGE IN BILOXI, MS. AFTER REHEARSING THERE FOR THE BETTER PART OF A WEEK, THE BAND DECIDED IT WAS BEST TO USE THE BONNAROO SETLIST AT THE BEAU RIVAGE. THE ENTIRE BAND AND CREW WERE DIALED IN AND WE HAD A STRONG FIRST SHOW OF THE TOUR. HERE WAS THE SETLIST:
BLACK WIDOW
BRUTAL PLANET
I’M EIGHTEEN
UNDER MY WHEELS
BILLION DOLLAR BABIES
NO MORE MR NICE GUY
HEY STOOPID
BROWN SUGAR (ROLLING STONES COVER)
HALO OF FLIES
I’LL BITE YOUR FACE OFF
MUSCLE OF LOVE
ONLY WOMEN BLEED
COLD ETHYL
FRANKENSTEIN
CAFFEINE
POISON
WICKED YOUNG MAN
KILLER/I LOVE THE DEAD
SCHOOLS OUT/ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL
---------
ELECTED
BORN THIS WAY
AFTERWARDS WE PACKED UP AND DROVE OVERNIGHT TO THE BONNAROO FESTIVAL IN MANCHESTER, TN.
JUNE 9TH - BONNAROO:
WE AWOKE TO A PARKING LOT A GOOD DISTANCE FROM THE FESTIVAL. LUCKILY THERE WAS A STARBUCKS, AND AFTER A QUICK PIT STOP THE MAJORITY OF THE BAND HEADED OVER TO CHECK OUT THE MASSIVE SHOW. IF YOU’VE NEVER BEEN TO BONNAROO, IT’S FAIRLY INSANE. IT’S LIKE COACHELLA ON STEROIDS. THE WEATHER WAS PRETTY GOOD, AND FOR THE MOST PART WE WANDERED AROUND, CHECKING OUT BANDS AND EATING THE ENDLESS VARIETY OF FESTIVAL FOOD. WE DIDN’T GO ON STAGE UNTIL MIDNIGHT, SO ALICE TOOK THAT TIME TO DO A FEW APPEARANCES. MOST NOTABLY, ALICE SPOKE ABOUT HIS OLD FRIEND GROUCHO MARX AT THE CINEMA TENT FOR A SMALL GROUP OF FILM BUFFS BEFORE A SCREENING OF DUCK SOUP, ALICE’S FAVORITE GROUCHO FILM. ALICE WAS JOINED BY HIS LONGTIME MANAGER SHEP GORDON, WHO ALSO KNEW GROUCHO AND MANAGED HIM FOR A SHORT TIME.
AFTER FILLING UP THE DOWN TIME, IT WAS TIME TO GET READY FOR THE SHOW. THE CREW HAD BEEN AT IT ALL DAY, JOSTLING GEAR ON STAGE TO MAKE WAY FOR OTHER BANDS WHILE STILL TRYING TO WORK. IT WAS A LONG HARD DAY FOR THEM, BUT IT PAID OFF IN THE END WHEN ALICE HIT THE STAGE. WE DECIDED TO DROP BROWN SUGAR AND REPLACE IT WITH IS IT MY BODY. THE SETLIST:
BLACK WIDOW
BRUTAL PLANET
I’M EIGHTEEN
UNDER MY WHEELS
BILLION DOLLAR BABIES
NO MORE MR NICE GUY
HEY STOOPID
IS IT MY BODY
HALO OF FLIES
I’LL BITE YOUR FACE OFF
MUSCLE OF LOVE
ONLY WOMEN BLEED
COLD ETHYL
FRANKENSTEIN
CAFFEINE
POISON
WICKED YOUNG MAN
KILLER/I LOVE THE DEAD
SCHOOLS OUT/ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL
---------
ELECTED
BORN THIS WAY (INTRODUCING FRANKENGAGA)
THE CROWD LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT, AND IF YOU’LL REMEMBER, ALICE SAID “I CAN’T WAIT TO KILL THE AUDIENCE AT BONNAROO.” JUDGING FROM THE CROWD AND PRESS REACTION, HE WAS SUCCESSFUL. HERE ARE A FEW LINKS TO SOME REVIEWS OF THE SHOW:
YAHOO MUSIC, WHERE ALICE LANDED AT THE TOP OF THEIR LIST OF THE TOP 5 MOMENTS AT BONNAROO.
JUNE 10TH:
DAY OFF IN CHARLESTON, SC. ALICE STOPPED BY THE CHARLESTON RIVER DOGS BALL PARK TO THROW OUT THE FIRST PITCH. AT THE PARK HE HUNG OUT WITH HIS OLD FRIEND BILL MURRAY, WHO IS THE LONG TIME CO OWNER OF THE BALL CLUB. THE RIVER DOGS IS AN A TEAM THAT FEEDS PLAYERS TO THE YANKEES. THE GAME WAS EVENTUALLY RAINED OUT, BUT MURRAY AND COOP GOT IN SOME GOOD LAUGHS, EXCHANGING STORIES AND JOKES WHILE THE TEAMS BATTLED BELOW.

ALICE PLAYS THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER IN CHARLESTON MONDAY NIGHT.

Excuse me but, are you busy on July 14th? I would like very much if you could lunch with my soon to be stepdaughter and I at Alice Cooper Town. She is coming from Texas for a quick get to know me and see if I'm Texas worthy. The only site she wanted to see when she came to AZ was Alice Cooper Town. Sorry to say, it seems rather boring without Alice Cooper. What do you think? :) Paleeese?
Saw you open for Iron Maiden in Charlotte and Atlanta - GREAT shows!!! Orianthi shreds!!!!!!!! I was on the barrier with the rest of the Iron Maiden Fan Club and afterwards I heard nothing but great comments about your show!!!!!
Drove almost 2 hours for the Raleigh, NC show (6/22/12) through some pretty bad storms, but Awesome show despite the ****** weather... and thanks Alice, for an awesome, super-memorable performance and the "killer" VIP experience - one of the best ever! ps - dont forget to let me know what you think of the CD I gave you of my music BEESTSPAWN! Thanks, and keep rockin'! A loyal sick thing, Barry "Beesty" Shelton"
I have been a fan for years and got to see you in Charlotteand loved every minute of the show.i will have to see the show again next time your around NC.
Saw you and Iron Maiden last night in Atlanta...you rocked the house! We love you!!!
Great show in Raleigh tonight despite the rain. Opening act was very good. Thanx Alice for coming to Raleigh. Band sounded great ! jeff from oxford, nc
I have loved your music since I was a teenager. Now, in my 50's, I finally get to see you for the first time in Raleigh NC. Can;t wait!!!!
Saw the show in Burlington on Fathers Day. It was my 16th or 17th show (lost ***** somewhere). Spectacular as always. We were in the front row right in front of Chuck and Ryan (Great to see him back). Can never get enough Cooper. Loved the three guitars. The band was tight and sounded great and Alice was....well, Alice!!!! I got some great photos and would love to post some on here. Come back to Iowa
Alice, you really rocked in Burlington, IA! Knowing now that you're one of the truly good guys, I enjoyed the show that much more. First time I'd seen you live, and I was in the mosh pit! In fact, I saw lots of us "seniors" in the pit! We all had a great time. Heard you made a stop at the mall before the show. Next time you come to Burlington, give yourself a couple of days to relax. There's a great golf course here!
Loved the show in Burlington,Iowa! The set list was fantastic and the special effects were great! We had a lovely evening outside. There was a storm on the previous evening and everyone had to wait it out in the audititorium to see Twisted Sister. I was also impressed by the stagehand who clumb way to the top of the stage before the show to sort out some wires. Scary ! You guys rocked and many thanks for stopping at the Steamboat Festival.
Hi Alice
the photos are amazing and i love you and your music i am glad i am a fan of yours from your rock fan Rhiannon :)
hi Uncle Alice
i love your music and all of your radio shows i listen to your radio show online on my laptop from your fan Rhiannon and Orianthi is a great guitar player and singer :)
Greetings Humanoids -
I saw the Alice Cooper show last might at the Pageant in St. Louis . My 13th. Cooper show since MadHouse Rock hit the old Checkerdome in February of '79 when I was barely 16 .
The band is dead on and tight as a ratchet . ORIANTHI is impressive ! Alice was in total classic Cooper character both menacing and charming at once . Who else but Alice ?
Cool set list . I can't remember all of the tunes off the top but he really delved deep into the catalogue with Black Widow , Halo Of Flies , Be My Lover , Muscle Of Love , Killer / I Love The Dead , and Is It My Body .
Personally , I missed Desperado and Ballad Of Dwight Fry . So many gems to pick from it's hard to please everyone .
Coolest stage show yet with the reappearance of the Boa , the guillotine , 10 foot tall creatures , and assorted spooky / party stuff . You get a lotta bang for your buck with this latest Cooper extravagance .
P.S. Cool # 18 St. Louis Cardinals jersey , Alice ! Thanx for making The Pageant your St. Louis home . Loved it to Death !
Saw the show last night in Kansas City. Been listening to Alice for 40 years and have not missed an Alice show in KC dating back to the Lace and Whisky tour. The Coop is simply the best. I love how every time I see him he pulls out a few songs he hasn't done in a while. Halo of Flies and Hey Stupid - priceless. Great to see Ryan Roxie back. Great musician and adds a definite flare on stage. Love Chuck Garric too - but he's much more cool with the short hair! Great show guys, but then again, what else would you expect from Alice!!!
Coop,
What can I say? Been a fan since I was twelve but never saw you live. Just turned 50. I was the crazy guy in the white T-shirt in the second row in Charleston. I've seen a lot of concerts. Alice Cooper in Charleston was the BEST SHOW I'VE EVER SEEN! Part of that was I knew the lyrics to every song you sang. Huge fan. Thanks for doing what you do! God bless. JT.
Thanks for coming to Knoxville. My 12 yr. old son finally got to see Uncle Alice. He has been going to bed with your radio show for years. Thanks again and Orianthi rocked.

I attended the Biloxi show at the beautiful Beau Rivage, this was the best concert I've seen in years!!!! This concert absolutely illustrated why Alice Cooper is the legend he is. Alice sounded great and the band was awesome, not a weak moment in the entire show.
The concert lasted approximately two hours, I wish it could have gone another two.
Can't wait to catch it again during the "No More Mr Nice Guy Tour".
Thanks so much for a very entertaining evening.
Hey!! Hey!!! Wait a minute!!! I loved the Born This Way cover!!! It definitely belongs with the character!!! I want to hear it this summer in Europe, PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alice didn't write the new lyrics for them to be played at only 2 shows, make it live longer!!!!! Many other fans loved it!!! WE SICK THINGS LOVE IT!!!!!!
Alice only gets better. Best band in America!!!!!!They blew the roof off PAC last night (June 11, 2012). DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW! XOXOXOX, Daniel G. Petterson, Charleston, SC

LONG LIVE THE COOP! WE'RE NOT WORTHY, but we try! Thanks for great Biloxi show.
We rocked out in Biloxi, MS. Alice and crew were awesome! Wish you'd come down here more often. Please try to book New Orleans sometime ;) WE LOVE THE COOP!
Alice was AWESOME tonight in Charleston! He had everyone on their feet screaming for more. Heads were banging and we were singing along like the obedient bunch of minions that we are.
Alice still commands the stage!
The stage hands had the opening bands amps and gear gone and Alice's set up in no time at all. The curtain was an awesome graphic too!
Alice definitely rocked Charleston!!!
The above comment was written by Rose Paul, you minion since 1975.
Congratulations to Roxie whoose delicate additions to music can be heard in the songs, very musical work Roxie!
From your fan from france, Danielle

What do I need to do to do so. I can be reached at johnthompsett@yahoo.com. Thank you for your time,Alice.
