Blog Post : Alice Cooper Reacts To Hall Of Fame Nomination
"On behalf of Dennis (Dunaway), Neal (Smith), Michael (Bruce) and the late great Glen (Buxton), we are honored to be nominated for induction in to the Hall. Anytime you are nominated in your chosen profession, it's definitely a compliment to be recognized.
It's hard to fathom possibly being in the same club as artists who inspired us originally, like the Beatles, the Stones, the Beach Boys, the Who, the Yardbirds, and Chuck Berry, and to be nominated the same year as legendary artists like my personal favorite songwriter of all time, Laura Nyro, as well as Donovan, who sang on our "Billion Dollar Babies" record, and our good friends in Bon Jovi, is a great feeling.
Five guys starting a band, just hoping to meet girls and drink free beer, rehearsing and playing local bars five hours a night for the first few years -- that was us. We came up with the theatrics and made every effort not to sacrifice the music one bit; we thought it was like our job to bring theatrics to rock 'n' roll. And then, amazingly enough, we were having a bunch of massive hit records which was proof that theatricality and rock 'n' roll could, in fact, be joined successfully. We've been told that we revolutionized the live concert experience and if that's truly the case and it's led to this nomination for induction into the Hall of Fame, the only thing to say is, of course, "There's no business like show business!" - Alice Cooper

Not nominating you would be stupid, you are the wolfgang amadeus mozart of the rockmusic. And you are rexcognized always by your fans. Allthough I live close to amsterdam in the Netherlands, I've seen your shows in Glasgow (2005), Bonn (2006), London (2007 and 2009) and Lokeren (2010). I went by bicycle to Bonn and Lokeren, cuz I ain't have the money for the train, but it's always worth seeing a great artist. Alice Cooper, the God of rock

Without Alice and his influence, many bands (who have already been inducted) would've never made it or may never have even tried. Congrats to Alice for his influence, supreme talent and his patience... ha ha ha

I have been a fan of Alice Cooper since the first album came out in 1974...I was 18 (imagine that!) I'm so proud that the band is being inducted into the Hall of Fame. It is well deserved!!!! I'm torked!! I definitely will make an attempt to be there. Looking forward to traveling to Youngstown for the October 9 concert too!!!! Congratulations!

I've been a huge Fan of Alice's for over 30 years and talk of an Honor LONG overdue!I've seen his shows more times than I could ***** and never left disappointed though I've never been able to meet the Legend!I've personally brought Alice's music to a new generation,my 4 year old daughter Erin,who,like her Daddy,will dress as the Icon this Halloween she LOVES his music.I last saw Alice's Theater Of Death Tour last year 2 nights in a row here in Connecticut with the second show Best of all at the Warner in Torrington with Dennis Dunaway and the Bouchard Bros.(B.O.C.)opening!I was BLOWN AWAY!!! Even though they had to halt the show due to a roof leak above the stage,the show resumed like a rocket,never missing a beat,ABSOLUTLY BLOWN AWAY,2nd row,center,eye to eye with the Legend himself!!!!! Definately,R&RHOF material and the wait is over,CONGRATULATIONS ALICE COOPER and Band Mates past and present!!!!! It now truly is HALLOWEEN 365!!!!!

I can't believe it took this long. I have been a fan since I was about 12. I'm 49 now and still am a huge fan. Had the opportunity to see you 7 or 8 times live. Also had the opportunity to work 3 shows in Tacoma.
Yeah, bon Jovi's nominated, but I hope you win Alice Cooper because you've all wanted long enough, let Bon Jovi wait long over due! lol.
