Blog Post : Alice Cooper Reacts To Hall Of Fame Nomination
"On behalf of Dennis (Dunaway), Neal (Smith), Michael (Bruce) and the late great Glen (Buxton), we are honored to be nominated for induction in to the Hall. Anytime you are nominated in your chosen profession, it's definitely a compliment to be recognized.
It's hard to fathom possibly being in the same club as artists who inspired us originally, like the Beatles, the Stones, the Beach Boys, the Who, the Yardbirds, and Chuck Berry, and to be nominated the same year as legendary artists like my personal favorite songwriter of all time, Laura Nyro, as well as Donovan, who sang on our "Billion Dollar Babies" record, and our good friends in Bon Jovi, is a great feeling.
Five guys starting a band, just hoping to meet girls and drink free beer, rehearsing and playing local bars five hours a night for the first few years -- that was us. We came up with the theatrics and made every effort not to sacrifice the music one bit; we thought it was like our job to bring theatrics to rock 'n' roll. And then, amazingly enough, we were having a bunch of massive hit records which was proof that theatricality and rock 'n' roll could, in fact, be joined successfully. We've been told that we revolutionized the live concert experience and if that's truly the case and it's led to this nomination for induction into the Hall of Fame, the only thing to say is, of course, "There's no business like show business!" - Alice Cooper

Alice, congratulations!!! You of all people should have been in a long time ago, and in the minds of the ones who really ***** (your fans) you have always been number one. I love Rock and roll, and there are alot of groups I love to rock to, but there is nobody, and I mean nobody like you. I wish you a long long career my friend and look forward to every album and dvd you grace us with. I am waiting feverishly for another new disc from you. Again Congrats Alice, And GOD bless you my rock and roll brother.

Well it's about time!! I only have one question. Is the "band" Alice Cooper nominated, or is the "solo performer"Alice Cooper, nominated? I do hope it's the band. I would love to see the surviving members regroup. Maybe, just maybe, they'll tour together again. One can only hope. Don't get me wrong, Alice has done some great solo work, but the band were by far the best!!
'ts about time. Congratulations. However, I don't mean any disrespect to you or other rock bands... but the don't you think the definition of what 'rock' is, puts a bit of a damper on the nomination? LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, Donna Summer and Neil Diamond? Other inductees include Grand Master Flash, Miles Davis , Leonard Cohen and Run DMC. It should be the Recording Artists Hall of Fame.
However, right on for you... the hardest part is done - you're on the list. Now its a shoe-in.

Great news Alice! I can't believe it took this long!!!!!!!! You and all of the original band, in my opinion, should have been in there when the original lineup was still kicking.
I never miss you when you come to Florida, since 1978 when we saw you in Lakeland, up to your most recent show in Daytona - when I almost didn't make it due to a flat tire and thick rainstorm - but loved the new live set, staging, effects, and band.
The last time in touch with this website Renfield responded back to me, and I miss him!!

When I think of the junk that groups like Bon Jovi put out in contrast to the quality that Alice put out from '70 to '75....it makes me laugh that Bon Jovi could even be considered for the Hall....Don't they listen to the music? The depth and range of Alice is so far superior than that other crap--Where is justice? Like all it's other mistakes...BJ will probably make it while Alice will wait for another year--I hope not.....

I just wanted to say that i grew up listening to ur muisc and i still enjoy it today.I have never got to see u live but i have downlaoded every album of urs off the net i could find.I have always asked for u guys to make into the hall of fame and now im so excited that u guys are finally on ur way there.Big thumps up dude and i think ur one of the true rocker out there and i a very lovable one at that.I have seen some ur live concerts on dvd and i think ut stageshow is out of this world and awesome.So way to go man im pushing for ya to get in.

It's the great music that made AC so great and long-lasting....only wish that he had kept the original group intact for alot longer...maybe more classics could have come from it...Hard-Hearted Alice....is what we want to be...bring back Michael and the others for one last tour!!!

Congrats Alice Cooper on the nomination. You guys have always been a favorite of mine even when I was a teenager back in the 70's I remember watching you on Midnight Special and Don Kershners Rock Concert. Other than actually being inducted, I'd like to see you come back to clear Lake, Iowa's Surf Ballroom and then you and I go play a round of golf!!!

You are my favorite artist and I just want to say hello and HOORAY! I've been a fan since I was ten, saw you in Detroit for Welcome to my nightmare at age thirteen and have only missed a handfull of concerts since (i'm now fifty-one). You truly deserve this induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and after all is said and done remember WE STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO. Also I'm very proud of your charity work, God bless.

Great news that Alice Cooper is nominated for the 2011 Rock Hall OF Fame! We're positive the band will be named, it's so true they're the originator's of theatrics in rock show performances!
I recall when Alice was standing inside a door jamb on stage with a spear, and of course the "beloved" intensely bright spot light for shining around (those were the days). PRETTIES FOR YOU!
We'd like to thank Alice's Fan Club for their wonderful (and much appreciated) efforts with ticket sales, and the great tickets released for the recent show over in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We were fortunate enough to be front row center, (It was like the old days, REALLY something!).
It's great Dennis Dunaway;s band is opening shows for Alice, it sure is a horrible disappointment that Glen isn't with us to celebrate the moment....now there was a REAL guitar player (violin bow, spoon, and all!)

I have been an adoring fan since I was a kid---now I have children of my own who are just as big of a fan as I am...Alice Cooper is an act you just can't miss when you go on tour. Thank you for the decades of entertainment, inspiration and most of all the axis in which sanity lies----many, many times throughout my life when things got tough---slap in some Cooper into the tune box--and whaalah----things are alright. Your music has been as diverse as your stage acts...Alice Cooper is truely worthy of many more awards and recognition for a lifetime of accomplishments and quality entertainment. Being dubbed the godfather of Metal is the icing on the cake.
