Blog Post : Alice Cooper Reacts To Hall Of Fame Nomination
"On behalf of Dennis (Dunaway), Neal (Smith), Michael (Bruce) and the late great Glen (Buxton), we are honored to be nominated for induction in to the Hall. Anytime you are nominated in your chosen profession, it's definitely a compliment to be recognized.
It's hard to fathom possibly being in the same club as artists who inspired us originally, like the Beatles, the Stones, the Beach Boys, the Who, the Yardbirds, and Chuck Berry, and to be nominated the same year as legendary artists like my personal favorite songwriter of all time, Laura Nyro, as well as Donovan, who sang on our "Billion Dollar Babies" record, and our good friends in Bon Jovi, is a great feeling.
Five guys starting a band, just hoping to meet girls and drink free beer, rehearsing and playing local bars five hours a night for the first few years -- that was us. We came up with the theatrics and made every effort not to sacrifice the music one bit; we thought it was like our job to bring theatrics to rock 'n' roll. And then, amazingly enough, we were having a bunch of massive hit records which was proof that theatricality and rock 'n' roll could, in fact, be joined successfully. We've been told that we revolutionized the live concert experience and if that's truly the case and it's led to this nomination for induction into the Hall of Fame, the only thing to say is, of course, "There's no business like show business!" - Alice Cooper

It is about time your unbleivable gift to entertain the masses was reconised to this extent. I have been lucky to see Alice on his Billion Dollar Babies tour back in the 70's( which took about a week to get my jaw of the floor) a show that completely blew me away and although I would of like to have seen more of his shows, 7 in total. Alice is the greatest show man ever and long may he reign and live.

Alice Cooper is coming to Roanoke, VA & this may be the only chance to tell him in person how I listened to his music from a troubled youth into an adulthood filled with alcohol & drugs. Then, when suicidal from all the bad memories of childhood, "Hey, Stoopid"came out. I listened to that song 1,000 times. It got me through the bad times & now , life is good. But, it would be a dream come true to meet & tell him myself how that song saved my life.

Indeed! I was overjoyed to hear of the nomination that has been LONG overdue. This is the birthplace of theatrical rock & roll and the influence of these men is easily recognizable throughout popular music. Put Alice Cooper alongside their peers at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame And Museum.

We have all waited a life time for this man Alice to get into the Hall of Fame. Too long. Alice Cooper is the most amazing human being around and he deserved that title way back when he started in the 70's! I would tell them to shove it. I know you'll be the one to make it in. The HOF would not miss out on the opportunity & priviledge to have someone of your caliper in their ranks. I know you're not about "being a big star" after having met you, I know you're much more of a real soul than that. But you've worked & continue to work your [I must say 'all that'] behind off for your profession with great expertise & uniqueness. Dear Alice, i've been a fan since i was mmmm, 7 or something, or maybe even younger. and we'll just say i'm a few decades older. i'm glad that you have stuck around all of these years because it would have been very sad if i'd never had the opportunity to see you when i finally was old enough to go to concerts. i've seen you in concert multiple times over the last several years and really enjoyed your shows and just recently i saw videos of you performing some songs in the 70's and i must say--you have gotten much better with age. i'll speak for myself, but i'm sure i'm not alone when i say i'm glad you took care of yourself so you are around to perform for us!

I still remember a when I was 13 years old, my friends older brother was playing his new LP, Alice Cooper Goes To Hell. I liked the music and wanted the album. My parents told me that if I worked hard that summer, they would buy me the LP of my choice at the Wearhouse record store. Summer was over and we headed to the shopping mall. I ran with excitedment into the Wearhouse store and picked up my album, Alice Cooper Goes To Hell. My mother walks into the Wearhouse, I rushed towards her with what was going to be my first new album and handed it to my mother. I could not describe the look on her face. She asked me to put it back and look for another album. I put the album back but refused a replacement. The drive home was quiet. When walked into the house, my mother grabbed her rosary and read out loud decades of the rosay. She was convinced that the man on the cover with the green face and a yellow background was a Demon.
33 years later, my mom and I laugh about it when I bring it up. My first Alice concert was in the 70's when my friends brother took us. I saw Alice again on Halloween night in 2009. Looking forward to tonights concert with Alice an Rob Zombie.

Alice Cooper should have been one of the first people in the Music Hall of Fame. He's a super star. I've seen him 3 times. And the next time he comes to Toledo, I'll see him again. He's well worth the ticket price. He puts on a great show. He's not a one night wonder. I listened to him as a kid, and now I'm 52. He's still a master at music. Rock On. It would be a dream come true if I could meet him.

This is such great news, but so long in coming to such a great bunch of musicians!! I'm 52 years old and been rocking out with The Coop for decades. To bad Glenn isn't here any longer to be apart of this, but you know he's partying here he's at.
My only wish is the Alice Cooper Group would get back together and come to Wisconsin (perhaps Green Bay/Oshkosh area).

This is a man well beyond deserving of this nomination. A lot
of sweat, hard work, perserverance and dedication to what he
loves to do. Alice Cooper is a household name throughout the
world, who would have ever thought it would have come to this.
The Coop just like most rockers has had his ups and downs,
even beating alcoholism and critics that said he wouldn't make
it. Like a fine wine he seems to get better with age. I have
been going to his shows now since the early 70's and can't wait
to finally get to meet for the first time at Mohegan Sun on
10/15 to cogradulate him myself for this prestigious achieve-
ment of being nominated to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The very first album I bought myself when I first went to work in 1974 was Muscle of Love. I have every Alice album, as well as 7 DVDs. I finally got to see Alice in concert in Brisbane, Australia for the first time in 2009. Still a huge fan after all of these years. All I can say about Alice Cooper's Hall of Fame Nomination - its about ****** time. Keep on rockin Alice!!!
It's about time and 15 to 20 years late at least. I know politics has it's place but shame on them. Congratz Coop, See you in Ottawa sometime soon.

Nomination for the Hall Of Fame? It goes without saying - I Love It To Death!!!
This is long overdue. I only hope that they are smart enough to choose Alice Cooper over the others. No offense to the other nominees but Alice Cooper wins this race hands down maybe after all this time the band and the man behind the make up will finally get their due and be elected after all.
